If you’re like me, you grew up listening to tons of Steven Curtis Chapman. If you’re not like me, now is the perfect time to start listening to him because, today, he releases Volume 1 of his #1 hits, which is a pretty appropriate title because the list of his #1s is pretty voluminous.
Also, to celebrate this release, he’s playing an online streaming event where there will be good music (duh) and pretty sweet giveaways.
Click here to see the album in iTunes.
The good people at EMI have given me one CD to giveaway, so in the comments, leave me your favorite SCC song of all time and we’ll pick a winner at random. I’ll go first and I’ll totally keep the CD if I get chosen at “random.”

Got 2 Be Tru
Did I win?
I think my favorite song of his now is "Beauty Will Rise". When I was growing up it was "The Great Adventure"
The Great Adventure stands the test of time for me. Also, as a side note, I had an actual mini shrine to SCC when I was in junior high. I put the jewel case to his album on my speaker, put fake daisies around it, along with my ticket stub from when he played at the Steer Convention Center. That story is not intended to sway your "random drawing" in any way.
I am commenting but not entering the drawing b/c I probably already have all his #1s. I saw him in concert 2 or 3 times during college. Can I pick a favorite? Hmm. No, no I cannot. But I will give a shout out to "Children of the Burning Heart," which had plenty of SCC's trademark "Yeah-ee-yeeahhh-haaaa"s.
I liked Dive and In Da Club.
You just got entered because of the "trademark yeahs" comment.
If you DID win, it would be more about respect than pity. I feel like that needs to be said.
You just cannot beat Great Adventure.
So many songs…Go There With You was one of his songs which recently spoke to me through some tough times.
"Speechless." I feel like it's far and away his crowning achievement, both the song and the album of the same name. Though of course he's had a ton of great hits/albums. Just really dig the long intro of that song.
I love that song!
Love his music – it's easy to play on the piano too and I have many of my voice students sing his stuff
